Ctrip: Sales in Macau to surpass MOP10 mln this year

Mainland Chinese online travel agency Ctrip.com International Ltd. expects its sales in Macau to exceed MOP10 million (US$1.3 million) for this year, according to Chinese language newspaper Macao Daily. The Chief Executive Officer of the company, Gao Xiang, told the newspaper that its business volume in the city has been growing fast since last year, with turnover reaching millions every month. According to Gao, the company is planning to integrate its resources to target travel products and services. He claimed the company would expand its co-operation with local providers and suppliers so that more new products could be launched. The online travel agency is also pursuing strengthening co-operation with e-commerce operators in Macau to provide a one-stop solution product packaging for other value added services. The CEO believes the reinforcement in such co-operation will help link local-featuring products to tourism consumption. Ctrip is the leading provider of travel services including accommodation reservation, transportation ticketing, packaged tours and corporate travel management in Mainland China.
