Ecuadorian nationals exempt from travel visa to the MSAR

Nationals from the South American country of Ecuador will be exempt from obtaining a travel visa or permit when travelling to Macau, according to a dispatch in the Official Gazette yesterday.
The release, signed by the Chief Executive (CE) stated that the new policy for Ecuadorian nationals comes into effect immediately.
Although no official data was provided on the number of Ecuadorian nationals who visit Macau, according to data from the Statistics and Census Service (DSEC), visitors to the MSAR from North, Central and South America (excluding the U.S., Canada and Brazil) totalled 23,817 in 2016.
