Emperor results up

Emperor Entertainment Hotel Limited’s profit for the six months ended September 30 increased by 231.6 percent to HK$170.0 million. The group’s earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation and after minority interests amounted to HK$173.2 million, representing a surge of 107.5 percent. The group principally engages in provision of entertainment and hospitality services at Grand Emperor Hotel in Macau. The revenue from the property amounted to HK$618.1 million, an increase of 48.0 percent over the same period last year. The hotel’s casino operation is run by SJM Holdings. Gaming revenue for the period amounted to HK$544.7 million, accounting for 88.1 percent of the Emperor Entertainment Hotel’s total revenue. Meanwhile, trading in the shares of both Emperor International Holdings Limited and Emperor Entertainment Hotel Limited has been suspended this morning at the request of the companies, pending their release of a price sensitive information announcement in relation to a proposal on corporate restructuring.
