Union Gaming Research Macau forecasts that gross gaming revenue in the city’s casinos will be between MOP24 billion (US$3.01 billion) and MOP25 billion this month, or between down 13 percent and 17 percent less than a year ago. The research house says in a note that it expects gaming revenue in the first quarter of this year to be about 25 percent lower than a year ago, or perhaps a little less. The note assumes little change in trends in either the mass market for gaming or the VIP market. It predicts that annual revenue will fall by 4 percent.
