Local MICE company expands to HK and Zhuhai

SmallWORLD, a Macau company dedicated exclusively to the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) sector, has established offices in the neighbouring Special Administrative Region Hong Kong and in Mainland China city Zhuhai across the border, one of the partners Bruno Simões told Business Daily.
Mr. Simões said that the expansion is a sign of growth for Smallworld: “The strategy was to expand the activity first to Hong Kong and then to Mainland China. We already have established businesses and a team in Hong Kong and Zhuhai. “
“Our clients are 90 per cent out of Macau. Most of them are from Hong Kong and other nearby regions – Mainland China, Southeast Asia, Japan, Korea and finally the more distant countries – India, Europe and US.
Most customers are event agencies and then end customers – companies directly,” explained the partner.
Smallworld began to hold MICE activities in Macau in 2006 but the company was fully established since 2008 and “works exclusively” for this industry.
Smallworld is active in three key sectors: Event management for conferences, product launches, awards ceremonies, and theme dinners; Team building, an area in which they position themselves as “the biggest company in Macau”; and Entertainment, for MICE events.
According to Bruno Simões, “every year we have been growing in double figures, despite some cooling periods that are more connected to the business situation and events in general in Asia – and not so much to the local environment. “
The company became known for Sky Drumming at the Macau Tower.
