Macau casinos take in MOP25 billion in April


Macau casinos took in MOP25 billion (US$3.13 billion) last month, up by 21.9 percent from the same period last year. Official figures released today by the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau show that this is the second highest level it has been since January this year, which coincided with the Chinese New Year holidays. So far this year, accumulated gross gaming revenue has reached MOP99.32 billion, a 25.7 percent increase over the first four months of 2011. The results already include Sands Cotai Central, which opened on April 11.
