Macau New Era piles up losses of MOP1.81 mln

Macau New Era Public Bus Co Ltd has accumulated losses of MOP1.81 million (US$226,630) since it took over bankrupt Reolian Public Transport Co Ltd’s bus services in the middle of last year, TDM radio has reported. The public broadcaster quoted Macau New Era general manager Daniel Fong as saying his company began turning a profit only in December, when it made MOP2.43 million. Mr  Fong said he believed the company could be profitable this year. He said the fall in the price of fuel had reduced operating costs.
