Report: Apple launching flagship store in MSAR

Apple is planning to launch its very first flagship store here, Chinese-language newspaper Macao Daily reported yesterday, claiming Apple is looking for staff and an appropriate place for the store in the city.
The newspaper said an unidentified property agency had helped Apple look for sites to place its first flagship store in Macau. However, the agency said it is not clear about AppleÂ’s final choice, whether it will choose a street shop for its new store or go for a shopping mall in one of the casino projects.
In addition, an unidentified human resources company told the newspaper that it had received information about AppleÂ’s recruitment plan in Macau a few months ago. Nevertheless, the company said it cannot announce more related details, or the wages that Apple is to offer to staff due to the confidentiality agreement between the two parties.
In fact, on Apple’s official website, 14 of all the positions open for recruitment state MO – an abbreviation for Macau. In addition, the detail of the job responsibilities of these 14 positions also indicated that their location is in the Special Administrative Region. These positions include leaders and specialists for business, market or store.
Business Daily tried to contact the media office of Apple in Hong Kong for clarification via phone and e-mail but the Office was unreachable by the time the story went to press.
