Sands market share drops

During July, Sands China market share dropped to 19 percent from 22 percent the previous month, sources told Macau Business. The company lost share to Melco Crown, which jumped from a 13 percent share to 14.8 percent. As usual, Stanley Ho Hung Sun’s Sociedade de Jogos de Macau continued to lead the ranking, with a July market share of close to 32 percent (30 percent in June). Wynn’s market share dropped to 15 percent from 17 percent in June. Galaxy Entertainment was fifth in the ranking, with just over 12 percent. MGM continued to round out the ranking, with a market share of 7 percent. Macau’s gross gaming revenues reached MOP16.3 billion last month, the second highest monthly value ever, representing a yearly increase of 70.4 percent, according to official data.
