China will host a TCR China Series in 2017, of which an invitational non-championship race will take place in the MSAR on November 19, according to the official website of the TCR International Series. The championship will be organised in partnership with Shanghai Lisheng Racing Co. Ltd., organiser of the China Touring Car Championship. This announcement follows TCR Asia saying its 2017 edition would not include a qualifying race in Macau that has been part of the Grand Prix programme in the past two years, creating an opportunity for the comeback of the World Touring Car Championship following its departure in 2014 from the city.
