Unemployment recedes to record low

The unemployment rate for the period between May and July receded to a record-low 2.0 percent, after temporarily going up by 0.1 percentage points in the previous period (April-June), the Statistics and Census Service announced yesterday. The total labour force for the period increased by 2,500 to 348,000. The number of those employed went up by 2,600 over the previous period, while the number of the unemployed decreased by 100 to 7,000.
