Weidner woos graduates to work in Taiwan resort

Weidner Resorts has signed memorandums of agreement with six universities and colleges in Taiwan guaranteeing their graduates training and employment at a casino resort to be built on the island of Matsu, with pay three times the national minimum, gaming intelligence provider GamblingCompliance reports. The company reached a deal with the six institutions and the Taiwan Tourist Gaming Research and Development Association to train, employ and pay graduates a minimum of NT$50,000 (MOP13,325) a month. Weidner Resorts president for Asia Eric Chiu says graduates would be offered jobs if the company was permitted to build the resort, “which will amount to some 70,000 direct employment opportunities".
