Consumer Council gives 1,105 shops certification

The Consumer Council says it has given 1,105 shops the right to display the emblem identifying them as council-certified shops, and given 14 shops class-A certification. The council says it inspected each shop both openly and clandestinely, and looked at the record of complaints about each. The inspectors now pay particular attention to whether a shop clearly displays the prices of what it sells and the exchange rates it offers for payment in currencies other than the pataca, and whether it offers after-sales service. The council declined to give certification to 274 shops that were candidates.
