Deutsche Bank unsurprised by June gaming revenue

Deutsche Bank says the MOP27.2 billion (US$3.4 billion) of gross gaming revenue that Macau’s casinos took in last month, 3.7 percent less than a year earlier, was what the market expected. The bank says the opening stages of the football World Cup distracted gamblers and so reduced gaming revenue. But it says the reduction is only temporary. The World Cup tournament ends halfway through this month. Deutsche Bank forecasts that this month’s revenue will be 2 percent higher than a year ago.
