Future Bright dips HK$27.5 mln into the red in H1

Macau restaurant chain operator Future Bright Holdings Ltd made a net loss of HK$27.5 million (about US$3.53 million) in the first half of this year, having made a net profit of HK$118.5 million a year earlier. Future Bright told the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that the weakness of its financial performance was due mainly to losses made in its souvenir food business and its new restaurant business over the border in Zhuhai. The company’s first-half revenue contracted by 2.8 per cent to HK$407.3 million. Its earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation fell by 92.3 per cent to HK$13.2 million.
