France’s Ibis chain of low-cost hotels has applied to register its trademark in Macau, Business Daily reports, citing the Official Gazette. The newspaper says it asked whether the chain intended to do business here, but received no answer. The Ibis chain runs two hotels in Hong Kong but, as yet, no foreign or mainland chain of low-cost hotels operates in Macau.
