Lui sets Galaxy’s course for Hengqin Island

Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd chairman Lui Che-woo says his company may invest HK$10 billion (US$1.3 billion) in sport-related facilities and hotels on Hengqin Island. Mr Lui told Bloomberg the company would expand further into the mainland and perhaps into casinos in the United States. Last May, Galaxy Entertainment told our sister publication Business Daily it may build a golf course on Hengqin. Galaxy’s heritage is in construction. It also controls 13 US hotels and six of Macau’s 35 casinos. Mr Lui is thought to be worth US$22.4 billion.
