Macau’s gross domestic product per head of population, at HK$630,492 (US$81,314), is 15 times the average in the Asia-Pacific region, the Asian Development Bank says. The Macau Post Daily quotes the bank as saying the results of a survey of purchasing power indicate that Macau’s economy is the richest per head among the 23 Asian or Pacific economies surveyed. Asia-Pacific regional average is HK$41,974.
