The Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong has concluded its investigation on Sands China Ltd., the gaming operator announced. The regulator decided not to take any measures against the company. Sands China Ltd. was being investigated for alleged breaches of regulations of the Securities and Futures Commission, but neither the company nor the regulator disclosed more details on the nature of the investigation. Sands China Ltd. is also being investigated by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the Department of Justice and the FBI regarding alleged wrong practices by the company and its parent, Las Vegas Sands, in Macau, following a court case filed by former employee Steve Jacobs. In the lawsuit filed in a Nevada court, Mr Jacobs, Sands China’s former chief executive, alleges he was wrongfully fired. In the court filings, he accused Sands China Ltd. and Las Vegas Sands of using improper leverage against Macau government officials.
