Jimei International Entertainment Group Ltd. is now the official name for what was once Sinogreen Energy International Group Ltd., following a proposal made in November last year. A company filing with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange states that the first approval came through on December 18, while the certificate of incorporation regarding change of name is dated December 31. However, the certificate of registration of alteration of name for a non-Hong Kong company was only issued on January 13. The name change will not affect the rights of shareholders, and the existing share certificates of the company under its former name will continue to be effective and valid through trading and settlement, according to the filing. The filing also reads that ‘new share certificates will be issued under the new name of the company with effect from 23 December 2014.’ Last November, the company said that the change of name would ‘provide the company with a new corporate image and identity in light of the business development and diversification of the group’. The decision came after veteran Macau junket operator Jack Lam Yin Lok replaced Chau Chit as chairman of the company following a major board reshuffle. At the same time, the company announced that Daniel Domingos António, a former inspector adviser at Gaming Inspection and Co-ordination Bureau (DICJ), had joined the group as an independent non-executive director. Previously, in a share subscription completed in September, Jimei Group Ltd.’s chairman Jack Lam and his associates had assumed control of 65.85 per cent of Sinogreen Energy’s shares.
